Dr Claire’s interests include general family medicine, women’s and children’s health and mental health.

In particular she loves providing quality cradle to grave care to her patients across the entire span of their lives.

Dr Jackson Parker

About Dr Parker:

Dr Parker started at the Glen Forrest Medical Centre on the 16 July 2024.

Dr Parker has completed his Doctor of Medicine training in 2021 at Notre Dame University in Fremantle.
He has since completed 2 years of hospital training in various general Medical and Surgical specialties, Emergency medicine and Psychiatry at Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital.
He has also had experience in Paediatrics in Port Hedland hospital.
His interests include General Medicine, Paediatric and Emergency Medicine but is interested in all aspects of family medicine.

Outside of medicine he enjoys hiking, surfing and spending times with friends and family.

Dr Pia Schelfhout

About Dr Schelfhout:

Dr Schelfhout started at the Glen Forrest Medical Centre in January 2024.

After a few months away, Dr Schelfhout returned on Monday 04/08/2025.

Pia grew up in the Perth Hills and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Music) prior to completing her medical degree at UWA in 2020. She has since been gaining experience across multiple departments at St John of God Midland Hospital, most recently working as a psychiatry registrar.
She has a special interest in women’s health and mental health.

Outside of the medical field, Pia continues to work as a professional musician and is employed as an assistant organist at St Mary’s Cathedral, Perth. She enjoys both cooking and eating good food, and spending time with family, friends and her dog.

Dr Siobhain Brennan (from October 2020 – not seeing new patients)

Dr Siobhain Brennan started working at the Glen Forrest Medical Centre in January 2017.

Siobhain is a long time hills resident, having raised her family in this area over the last 18 years. She loves the community spirit of the hills.

Training

Siobhain completed her medical training at UWA in 2012. She came to medicine after gaining a PhD and a successful career at PMH and the Telethon institute for kids as a senior post doctoral scientist in respiratory medicine research with a specialty interest in cystic fibrosis. She chose to follow the medical path as she was passionate about patient care and advocacy.

Although enjoying all aspects of family medicine, since graduating from UWA, Siobhain has continued with her special interest in paediatrics. This has included training at PMH, with some speciality immunology and allergy training, and completing her Diploma of child health in 2014, and ongoing casual employment at PMH in the Emergency Department. In addition to this Siobhain has an interest in women’s health and completed the Sexual health certificate in 2015, and enjoys working with women of all ages.
Siobhain also enjoys interventional procedures such as removing skin lesions and foreign bodies.

In 2017 Siobhain will extend her skill base to palliative care when she will also work part time in the community delivered palliative care programs with Silver Chain.

Outside interests

Siobhain likes spending time with her family and friends, yoga and swimming, and is hoping to learn to play the Bodhran (an irish drum) in 2017.

Dr Juliette Buchanan (from May 2023 – not seeing new patients)

About Dr Buchanan:

Juliette is a rural-trained GP with Post-Graduate training in women’s health including IUD and Implanon insertion and paediatrics.

She enjoys performing minor procedures including skin and nail excisions in the Treatment Room and is happy to manage intravenous rehydration and medications where possible to avoid unnecessary referrals to Hospital.

Other professional interests include Work-Related Injury and Illness. She has been travelling to the Pilbara for work regularly since June 2013 and has good insights into the issues facing FIFO families. Accredited Level 2 Intermediate Recreational Running Coach with Athletics Australia.

Outside of work Juliette is an endurance athlete with significant knowledge around nutrition and training, which compliments any consultation regarding sport, weight loss and chronic disease prevention.

Dr Sarah Colby

Dr Sarah Colby started at the Glen Forrest Medical Centre in January 2019.

After travelling the world for a year after high school, Sarah initially completed a degree in exercise and health science, specialising in exercise rehabilitation before moving into medicine at UWA.

She welcomed the opportunity to spend a year of medical school working in Kununurra expanding her skills in a different environment, where she was also able to enjoy the lifestyle of camping amongst the gorges, waterfalls and bushland.

Graduating in 2013, Sarah worked in many different areas of medicine and surgery in the hospitals around Perth before entering into general practice training.

Sarah was fortunate to have enjoyed six months at King Edward Memorial Hospital where she completed a Diploma in Women’s Health on the background of a keen interest in women’s health, antenatal care and sexual health.

Outside work, Sarah loves travelling, camping and participating in triathlons.

Dr Mark Daykin (from April 2021 – not seeing new patients)

About Dr Daykin:

Dr Daykin joined the Glen Forrest Medical Centre in December 2015.

Born and trained in England’s Midlands, Mark worked as a GP in Bristol and the Cotswolds before moving with his wife to the Western Australian Wheatbelt in 2009. Originally planning to work abroad for just 2 years, they fell in love with the Perth Hills and so decided to move and then school their two little girls here.

Mark enjoys the range family medicine offers, with interests in Internal medicine (Age care, Diabetes and Cardiovascular medicine) Emergency medicine and Men’s Health.

His main interests outside of work include enjoying spending time with his young family, philosophy, and also tending to the demands of acreage in the Hills. He is also a keen soccer fan.

Dr Guido Hanly

About Dr Hanly:

Guido has been practising in the Perth Hills for 20 years. Apart from traditional family medicine he has an interest in mental health having had training in clinical hypnosis, meditation and family therapy. He has had advanced training in hypnotherapy at the Ericksonian Institute in Phoenix, Arizona.

In his lunch break he is known for practising his violin which has attracted comments ranging from “beautiful” to “like a cat being strangled”.
